This was our home for two nights in early August - a yurt in a field in East Sussex, about 20 minutes north of Eastbourne on England's south coast.
It was a beautiful setting. We had the whole field to ourselves - no other yurts or buildings - with a beautiful view of the surrounding East Sussex countryside to enjoy while sipping our wine on the wooden veranda outside.
The little wooden construction to the right of the yurt is the compost toilet. Unfortunately, there was no shower, but we were only there for two nights, so we managed to cope - just!
Conveniently, a hop over a nearby style and short walk across a couple of fields took us to a nearby pub, which served up some very tasty pub fare.
Inside the yurt was very comfortable. When we arrived James immediately set about trying to light the stove, until I pointed out that we needed to get to the pub for some dinner (it was 9pm after all).
But he did build the fire, so it was ready to light for when we came back, which made the yurt very snug and warm.
We had a very peaceful break in our cosy yurt and we'll be back if we can. If you want to give it a go, click here for the Air BnB listing.
